How To Calibrate An Airsoft Gun

It can be a real pain if an airsoft gun isn’t calibrated correctly–for the person shooting it, that is. Your target may not be so annoyed if you always seem to hit just a little too far to the right. To instill a little more fear into that bullseye, follow the instructions below.

  1. Find somewhere indoors (where you are allowed to shoot) or wait till a day with no wind.
  2. Set up a target about 15 feet (4.5 meters) away.
  3. Set up a chair so that you can hit the target with the gun standing on it. This way, you will always hit the same point and won’t have to guess if you calibrated the gun correctly or if the whole gun changed position.
  4. Load, cock, and unsafe the gun.
  5. Line up the the back and front sights.
  6. Shoot at the center most point.
  7. If the hole is up 1 inch too high, bring down the hop up and vice versa or point the gun down about 1/8 of an inch if it is to the left or right about 1/8 left or right.
  8. The gun should be pretty well aimed, except for in wind.
  9. Ask someone at an airsoft gun store about sight adjustment after learning how to adjust,so that you can move sights to shoot normally at the center.

Tips
-Patience is key
-Some guns have a fixed aim that cannot be modified
